In 2014 Les Owen traveled with veterans of The First Special Service Force, the first combined Canadian and U.S. combat unit, back to Italy and France where they fought during WWII. Nicknamed The Black Devils they were greatly feared by the Germans during the war. The ensuing documentary Victory Remembered, Legacy of the Black Devils, tells their story beginning in Helena Montana where they originally trained, to the mountains, beaches and villages of Italy and France that they liberated from Nazi control. The inspiring accounts of personal courage as told by family members and the veterans themselves remind us what it takes to defend freedom.

Thanks to the abundance of footage it was decided there was much more that needed to be told, so the Victory Remembered Video Library was created. Click this link, Victory Remembered, to enjoy the library of individual video chapters derived from the film and additional footage.
